JLJL77 Cannon Level: Pricing Your Shots at a Fishing Boss

Your cannon level sets what each shot costs and scales what each hit pays.

JLJL77 Fish HuntingFish hunting works when you decide the number of shots first: divide your session budget by the shot cost, then spread those shots across targets you chose.
JLJL77 Fish MachineA fish machine is the arcade cabinet where players aim a cannon at swimming targets.

Your cannon level sets what every shot costs, and it matters most when a fishing boss swims in.

A fishing boss is the target every other fish on the screen is there to frame. It is larger, worth a bigger multiple than the ordinary fish and usually takes more than one clean shot to remove. This page shows you how to decide whether a boss deserves your shots, using the same budget arithmetic you already use for the rest of online fishing. You must be 21+ to play.

What a fishing boss is

A boss is a named or oversized target that appears on a timer or by the game’s own rules. Games present it differently: some bring it across the screen slowly, some announce it with an effect and some pair it with a special event. The common thread is value, because the boss carries a higher multiple than the fish around it.

Mega Fishing from JILI is one example of a title where the octopus wheel works as the feature event. JILI lists the game with a 950x maximum win and no paylines, and the Mega Fishing page holds the details. Open any boss title’s info screen to read what its own targets are worth.

How a boss differs from an ordinary target

Three differences matter when you plan your shots.

  1. Value: a boss pays a larger multiple of the shot’s cost than a small fish.
  2. Effort: a boss can take several shots or a special weapon to remove, where a small fish goes down at once.
  3. Visibility: a boss stays on screen longer, which gives you time to fire, and your shots can miss the whole time.

A shot costs the same whether it hits a boss or a small fish. A boss does not change the game’s maths and it does not change your cannon level. It changes where your shots go.

Cannon level and how much to spend on one boss

Because nobody can publish a hit rate you can rely on, the safest tool is a spend cap you set before the boss appears. The cap turns an open-ended chase into a fixed cost.

The table uses round example numbers for the arithmetic, not any JLJL77 game’s stakes. It assumes a ₱500 session and a ₱2 shot, which gives 250 shots.

Cap per boss (share of session)Shots at the example ₱2Peso spend
5%12₱24
10%25₱50
20%50₱100

Pick the share before you start, and when the cap is reached, move your aim to ordinary targets or stop. A 10% cap means at most ten bosses can use your session, which keeps the other 90% for the rest of the game.

Reading the fishing cannon and boss rules

Problem

The game never says what its boss is worth.

Fix

Open the paytable or info screen before you fire and note the multiple it prints. A rule that is not on those screens stays out of your plan.

Every title explains its bosses somewhere inside the game, so you need not guess. Look for the paytable, the info screen or the help page before your first shot.

  • Note what the boss is worth, as a multiple of the shot.
  • Note whether the game uses a special attack, a bomb, a lock-on or a timed event against bosses.
  • Note whether the boss appears on a schedule the game states, or only at random.

Example: a game that lists a boss on its paytable at a stated multiple gives you a number to plan with, and a game that lists none gives you nothing to plan with. If a rule is not on the game’s own screens, leave it out of your plan. The casino terms for fish games and bosses entries define words such as cannon level and bet unit that those screens use.

Boss shots versus steady small targets

Problem

The boss has taken your cap and is still on screen.

Fix

Stop spending on it and move your aim to ordinary targets. The cap was set to protect the rest of your session.

Two plans exist, and both are fair. A steady plan fires at small targets and treats a boss as an extra target when it passes. A boss plan holds some shots back for the big target.

Example: with the 250 shots from the table above, a steady plan can spend 225 on ordinary targets and keep 25 for one boss. The steady plan lets a session last longer because each shot is low risk to your balance. The boss plan gives you one focused attempt but empties your budget faster. The fish hunting budget plan page shows how to build a target plan around a fixed budget, and it pairs well with the cap above.

Where bosses come from in the fish arcade

The boss idea is as old as the fish arcade cabinet, and it carried over when the game moved online. The fish machine origins page explains that move and what stayed the same on a phone screen.

Studios build their own boss rules, so a boss in one studio’s title does not behave like a boss in another’s. The fishing game providers behind boss rounds index lists the studios this site covers, including JILI and CQ9. The lobby’s game list on 19 October 2026 carried 14 JILI fishing entries and 6 from CQ9, so you can compare boss styles across them.

FAQ

What is a fishing boss?

A fishing boss is the biggest target in a fish-shooting game, worth a larger multiple than ordinary fish and harder to remove. Each game sets its own boss rules, which its info screen or paytable lists.

How many shots does a fishing boss take?

It depends on the game, and no honest general number exists. Open the game's paytable or info screen, and set a spend cap for each boss before you fire.

Is it worth shooting a boss instead of small fish?

A boss pays a larger multiple, but it can take more shots, so it uses up your budget faster. Small fish stretch a session and a boss concentrates your spend, so choose by how long you plan to play.

Do bosses change the game's maths?

No. A boss is one of the targets the game's maths already includes, and nothing you do changes that maths. What you control is how many shots you commit.
